Parkfield U12C 1 – 4 Under 12B

Following last week’s very disappointing loss, Rangers really needed to bounce back strongly. They did just that by putting in their most complete performance so far this season.

Rangers dominated the first 20 minutes of the match and had half a dozen chances to score. Toby Coles came close a couple of times. The first goal came just after the substitutions were made. Mark Roche pressed a defender. The defender’s pass hit Mark who then ran onto the ball and hit it into the corner of the goal. One goal was never going to be enough because, even though Parkfield rarely left their half in first period, they did have a few breakaway attacks.

Rangers got their second early in the second half when Mark Roche picked up an errant pass in the box and tucked the ball into the far corner. The nerve-settling third goal came from a penalty from Josh Lafferty following a foul on Daniel Mullin. Daniel himself found his scoring touch again to grab the fourth. Parkfield’s consolation goal came following a headed clearance from a corner that unluckily fell to a Parkfield player. Conor Forkin made a great save at his near post to ensure the scoreline properly reflected the dominance Rangers had in the game.
