A great day for playing football and the effort by the Ruislip boys vs local rivals Wealdstone was always going to be there.
It was a competitive game with both sides creating the chances. Wealdstone managed to take the lead in the first half when the referee awarded a penalty for an innocuous looking challenge.
In the second half Ruislip gave their all but then had the misfortune to give away a indirect free kick after the goalkeeper picked up a pass back from 14 yards. Hit low and hard past the wall the ball squeezed past post and defender on the line.
Back to the training ground to get some better understanding in front of goal and keep the learning going in respect of how to defend set pieces.
