Ruislip Town U12B 4 vs 0 RRFC U12Cs

Plenty of texts to start the day as the rain was driving hard across many peoples windows as they welcomed British Summertime! However, with the weather being better in previous weeks the pitch was in good condition and RRFC U12B welcomed St Josephs U12Bs for their final league fixture of the season. The game started well for RRFC as they played some nice passing football. This was rewarded with a great passing movement ending in Harry finishing well to make it 1-0. However, almost straight away St Josephs bounced back and saw their player drive forward with the ball and hitting it sweetly past defence and keeper. RRFC seemed to be in dreamland as the shock of the first saw them stand still as the second was scored against them. Worse was to come with a free-kick on the edge of the area evaded the defence wall and player as the keeper watched it sail past him as well. 1-3 down and RRFC looking out of it. However, despite a couple of more scares, RRFC gradually realised this was a proper game of football and they could do something about it. A succession of corners was rewarded when Louie had the space and time to hit a great shot from 12 yards cross the goal for the ball to hit the post and go in. 2-3 down at half-time and the boys looked dejected and expecting the managers talk to be tough. In stead he asked them to go out there and keep passing the ball about and get in positions to help each other. And so they started the second half brightly and Adam in the right place slotted one home to make it 3-3. However, St Josephs kept threatening and from a similar position to where Louie was they lobbed the keeper for a well taken 4th goal. RRFC were not to be out done and in the driving rain managed to find a bit extra. First Harry got a second and then Callum drove forward and hit the ball across the goal to see it hit the post and just cross the line. 5-4 win was a great way for RRFC to finish the league season.
