With a double header against local division rivals the boys knew a win in both games would ensure topping their group and progressing into the quarter – finals. Ruislip started very strong with plenty of chances in front of goal for Jack Tomkins, sash, Josh Harnett and Ben Poole. It was however Owen Chantrey who opened the scoring with yet another terrific diagonal shot which caught the Heathrow keeper of his line. Half time was called and the boys needed to continue there domination and up the tempo of the game, into the second half and Striker Ben Poole received the ball on the edge of the area, rode two challenges and drove a fearsome shot into the top corner. Substitutions where then made and within 5 minutes of coming on Duncan Austin had a brace of goals the second being a great team passing goal withDuncan glancing in a near post header. Result Ruislip win 0 v 4.

Ruislip Rangers 3 v 1 Heathrow Club

Into the second game and the boys knew they couldn’t let the first game points slip away, with a scrappy start Nathan Appleby will never hit a sweeter shot from 20 yards which flew into the bottom corner to give Ruislip the lead. Heathrow were threatening in spells and a great free – kick from the edge of the area into the bottom corner levelled things up. The call from the sidelines from the Ruislip coaches was again up the tempo of the game and the boys duly obliged. Quick goals from Josh Harnett and Sam Fraser put Ruislip into a commanding 3 v 1 lead. Chances were still to be had for Ben Poole, Sash, Sam Fraser and Josh Harnett to mention a few. Ruislip win 3 v 1.
