U13 Girls Clarets 8 Thame 0

Scorers : Angie 3, Aurela 3, Reanna 1, Eve S. 1 GOM. Angie A bit of a slow start with both teams sussing each other out but a quick thinking throw from Bex to Angie then a nice little dribble and shot made it 1-0. Goal number two was a mazy little run from Angie beating about three tackles plus the onrushing keeper to pass the ball into the net. A lot of the play was happening over on the right. Bex getting in some great crosses from some smart passes from Angie and Eve. Just as we were going to change things to get more ball out to the left Reanna started a great move – Milie to Issy, back to Millie and Reanna finishing it off 3-0. Next Aurela was off the mark with a lovely one two with Angie. As well some great attacking play our defence (Issy, Farren, Lili and Paige) limited Thame to zero goal threatening opportunities. The first half for Barry and myself was probably the best football we have played. The girls seem to progress weekly with the balance and organisation getting better with the team sticking to their tasks. So much so that the manager, in his infinite wisdom, changed the position of the players (No it was nothing to do with the constant nagging. “Can I play up please. Can I play up front ?” As if 13 year old girls would ever nag 🙂 One change that we knew would work was putting Eve upfront. A lovely run with a great finish made it 5- 0. It then got all a bit messy but by now Thame were on the back foot. The next goal was wonderfully executed . An Angie free kick up over the wall down into the goal, top right hand corner ! Just ask our chairman how good it was ! The last two goals were again some great wing play getting the ball into the box. Aurela in the right place, right time. A nice hat trick for Aurela. After spending halftime moaning we swapped our defence with mid field only for us to have now six defenders, no mid field and two attackers. Lesson learned by the management. I won’t bow down to pressure from the players. Believe that and you’ll believe anything !
