U16 Girls 0 Aylesbury Utd. 1

GOM Savana Fearon

Not the result we wanted from this game. We had to change our playing style and tactics from pass and move to a longer ball game as we knew their defence was not the strongest. We nearly went down within the first minute but thankfully the ball was cleared. We settled into the game and started advancing on their goal and soon had shot straight at the keeper who parried it down and then picked it up. The half was end to end football and we kept up a strong attack and defended strongly.

With the score level at nil all starting the second half we kept the formation the same. We kept attacking their goal but to no avail and likewise them on ours. Unfortunately though, about 15 minutes before the end of the game, they received a loose clearance from the defence and shot past Shannon.

We kept our heads up and continued attacking but could not break through. This result does not reflect how the girls played today. The goal was very much against the run of play and in my mind we dominated for a lot of the game. The girls should take heart that this was their best performance against this team and probably in the league this season.
