Having been forced to enter an open age competition due to a lack of other U16 entries, the girls then found their qualifying group moved from Heathrow to Wimbledon. However they put up a good show against teams that were, on average, 10 years older than them.

They played 5, drew 1 and lost 4. The goal keeper of one of the teams we scored against was none to happy after Savana’s blistering run and shot. She was heard to say that “We can’t be drawing with a team that have to come with their dad’s !” :-).

Chloe scored the second goal in this game from a wide shot on her left foot. The only other game we scored in was against a team of Korean mum’s. Charlotte Hickey belted a long range shot which the keeper just could not get.
