Premier Division
Our 1st ever league match at 9 a side was played on a lovely, if long, pitch,
We completely dominated the 1st half playing some great passing football, moving the ball from side to side and coming back to the defenders when required.
After a few half chances we took the lead from a corner, the ball was flicked on to Jahrome and he finished smartly with his left foot right into the bottom corner.
Soon afterwards another Ruislip attack was cleared long and Lewis collected the ball inside our half and drove a right foot pile driver straight back over the keepers head and into the net. We think it was 45 yards but can’t be sure, however it was a magnificent strike.
Lewis also made a lung busting run to win a clean tackle and play the ball forward after a fast Hampstead breakaway.
At HT we were in control with all the boys playing superbly.
Hampstead were rejuvenated in the 2nd half and came straight at us, they passed the ball really well and we were chasing shadows for a period.
We conceded after another good Hampstead move and the game had changed.
We were still creating chances though, several good ones were spurned before Rueben picked up the ball wide on our left.
He held off several challenges and raced towards the goal, the keeper approached and just as I thought Rueben would finish off his run with a shot, he cleverly and unselfishly passed to Omar who had raced through in support. Omar finished calmly and our 2 goal lead was restored.
Hampstead closed the gap with a fine finish from outside the box but we still opened up the defence to create some clear chances but could not add to our score.
A great game with superb football from both teams.
Scorers: Jahrome, Lewis and Omar.
