Rangers started the new season playing confidently and could easily have come away with all three points against a team that has spent the last two seasons in the top division.
Rangers went ahead in the 25th minute when Aaron lobbed the keeper having been put through by a clever header by Kamaal. The Rangers defence was excellent at keeping Holmer Green at bay and the team deservedly finished the first half ahead.
Ten minutes into the second period, Holmer Green got a goal back with a superbly hit shot from distance by their left back. Minutes later Sam went on a run the length of the pitch and hit a low shot from the right that went inches wide. Ryshub then made a brilliant fingertips save to keep the score even. Rangers had two great chances to win the game at the end. One chance fell to Kamaal and the second was a shot by Liam T that went inches wide.Â
The entire team put in strong performances with Harrison, Sam and Luis making excellent debuts.
