Ruislip Rangers started the game nervously and struggled to gain control of the ball. Niamh commanded her goal area well when Milton Keynes were kicking long balls from their defence to their forwards. MK had most of the play 1st half with a lot of shots and corners which they failed to capitalise on. Towards the later part of the first half Ruislip started to get the ball forward from a hard fought battle in midfield from Hayley & Hannah, who on occasions got the ball out wide to Amy & Lauren who crossed the ball into the MK’s penalty area, but Ruislip could not put the ball into the net. Ruislip started the second half with a lot more desire to win the ball and press forward and the match became more even. Sophie worked hard down the right wing and mid-way through the second half put a cross into the MK penalty area for Lauren to latch onto and shoot past the MK keeper to make it 1-0. Shortly after Ruislip had taken the lead, Ruislip unfortunately missed a golden chance to go 2-0 up and make the game safe. The last five minutes saw Milton Keynes press hard for an equaliser, but Ruislip defenders Annabel, Megan, Elia and Caitlin held strong to keep Milton Keynes out.
