Sunday 15 February 2015, 10:30am KO. Kings College Field.
A few years ago this team routinely came back from being behind in matches and, against a team of tall and strong boys, Rangers recaptured that ‘comeback spirit’ as they recovered from being 3-1 down at half-time to deservedly win.
In the first minute of the match the Dragons were awarded a penalty which they tucked away. Inside a minute later the game was all square following a corner by Mark that Josh brilliantly headed home. Midway through the second half Kensington were given another penalty to make it 2-1. It was an even half but Kensington went into the halftime break two goals to the good when took advantage of Rangers giving the ball away in midfield.
Rangers were playing the better football and they just had to carry on as they were in the second half and the game would change. It did when Rangers got a goal back early on. It came from another Mark corner which Josh expertly converted. Rangers were given a penalty shortly after when Nathan was brought down in the box. Josh completed his hat-trick with a well-taken penalty. The winning goal came with 8 minutes to go when Mark was put in on goal and took a shot which the keeper was unable to hold on to. Kai ensured the win when he brilliantly saved when the Dragons were in on goal. This result puts Rangers right back in the promotion hunt as they have games in hand over their opponents.
