With only a point needed from today’s game the boys were sent out to get the victory whilst continuing to play the attractive football that has got them this far. On a blustery wet day Owen Chantrey carved opened the Heathrow defence with a great run and calmly slot home the opener. The rest of the half Ruislip continued to dominate but struggled against the wind.
Into the second half and the defence continued to look solid and when striker Ben was bundled over in the area up stepped Josh Harnett to settle the nerves with a well taken Penalty. Sash continued to be a threat with his blistering pace and was duly rewarded with a coolly taken goal on the counter attack. As the later stages drew closer, Ruislip were in control of the game and the League title was in touching distance. A miss-placed throw from Ruislip found Charlie Poole in the box who reacted first and rifled the ball on the half volley into the top corner. Still time left for another great move from the boys to again create the opportunity for Ben Poole to strike the ball from 20 yards into the top corner.
One of many great performances from the whole squad to secure a fantastic season and becoming League Champions.
