Harrow Borough FC and Ruislip Rangers FC are delighted to announce a joint partnership starting in the 2021/22 season.
Both clubs have a great history in the local area and consider this partnership will offer significant benefits to all involved and the local community.
As part of this agreement, the clubs will form a new Under 23s side which will create a natural pathway for the Ruislip Rangers youth players looking to break into senior football. In addition, there will be a youth tournament in the summer at the stadium and selected Ruislip Rangers matches will be played at Harrow’s ground, The Rogers Family Stadium, in Earlsmead, South Harrow.
The partnership will officially start on Wednesday, July 21st, launching at Harrow’s home pre-season friendly fixture against Queen’s Park Rangers, which kicks off at 7pm. Ruislip Rangers will provide the ball kids and mascots at the game. Tickets for the match can be purchased online via the Harrow Borough FC website.
Both clubs are now looking forward to a happy partnership and a successful season on and off the pitch. Harrow Borough Chair Peter Rogers said: ‘At Harrow, we’ve been aware for some time that our community links would be strengthened if we could better tie up with the local youth and recreational football scene. This link gives us that opportunity while giving our new friends at Ruislip Rangers both a means of progressing their young players who show promise and also a hub for events and socialisation’.
Borough first team manager Steve Baker added: ‘The success of Raheem Sterling and Bukayo Saka in England’s Euro 2020 side has underlined what fabulous talent can be found at youth football level in Middlesex and West London. My philosophy as a manager has already been “if you’re good enough, you’re old enough” and if our link-up can help set other local children on the pathway to successful careers in football, it will be truly worthwhile.’
Ruislip Rangers Club Secretary, Steve Roche: ‘This partnership provides us with the last piece of the jigsaw as it means we will now be offering football opportunities at all levels and to all parts of the community. The Under 23 team will add to what we are already doing with boys, girls, disability, men’s, women’s, and walking football. In addition, our children will love being able to be mascots and ball kids at Harrow Borough’s matches and this association gives our families a new reason to come out to support their local non-league side.’
