Even though the pitch was incredibly heavy and muddy, the boys were just grateful to finally have a game to play having had just 4 matches in the last 3 months. That eagerness was evident from the off as they shot into an early lead.
The first goal came after 5 minutes. Charlie found Josh on the left with a perfect cross-field pass. Josh put the ball across the goal, Toby stretched to get the ball back and it eventually fell for Niall to slot the ball home. The second came after 9 minutes. Toby took a short corner to Connor. The ball came back to Toby who, playing his last match, put a perfect cross into the six-yard box for Josh to convert. The third goal came two minutes later and was the best goal of the match. The move started in the Rangers half. An intricate series of passes saw the ball eventually end up with Kamaal who calmly slotted the ball home. That was the end of the period of domination for Rangers. Parkfield found their feet and put Rangers under a lot of pressure. Kai made a fantastic save towards the end of the first half to ensure the half-time score was 3-0.
Parkfield continued to dominate possession in the second half and Rangers had very few chances. Parkfield scored midway through the second half and this ensured that the end was nervy.
