Ruislip started life in the top division of the Wycombe and South Bucks League with a powerhouse of a performance that completely overwhelmed the visitors.
The home side were at it right from the first whistle and it only took four minutes for Drilon Krasniqi to latch onto Mark Webb’s lofted through ball to confidently rifle them in front. Two minutes later another searching Webb pass found Finn Edwards racing clear on the right and his pinpoint cross was nudged home by Krasniqi for a superb second. Krasniqi very nearly made it a 4 minute hat trick but his towering header from Luke Massingham’s corner flashed just wide. However, another fine Massingham corner did produce the third as Webb ghosted in to score with his shoulder from virtually on the line. Krasniqi didn’t have long to wait to claim his hat trick with a comfortable finish after a fine turn and driving run on 20 minutes. Six minutes later he claimed his fourth and Ruislip’s fifth as he tapped home after the keeper saved well from Charlie Coshall’s stinging volley. It was very nearly 6-0 going into the break but Remi Ogunbayo’s header from another Massingham delivery thudded against the bar.
It was much the same in the second half and 5 minutes in, the under siege Marlow keeper did well to save Edwards’ point blank effort. However from the resultant Omari Reynolds corner, Lennox Kedman powered a fine header home at the back post. Massingham provided another assist on 48 minutes as his left wing cross was neatly turned in by Ben Higgins who had rattled the post with a header just seconds earlier. Caleb Watts joined the party 2 minutes later as his fierce drive, following a clever turn, burst through the keeper’s hands. It was now a procession and when Kedman rifled home a loose ball on 53 minutes, the 2 coaches and the referee got together and decided that, with Marlow fast losing players and heart, it was best to call a halt to proceedings.
Ruislip set a marker down with this performance as they played with pace, power, quality and character, the latter eepitomizedby Kedman and Ryan Morgan who both played when it appeared they would both miss out through injury 24 hours earlier.
MoMÂ – It could have been any one of a number of players in particular Krasniqi and Massingham. However, given that he was doubtful until just before kick off, Lennox Kedman had an especially good game down the left where his delivery on a number of occasions was exceptional and he came up with 2 very smartly taken goals as well.
