Ruislip Rangers U14W  3 – 1  Penn and Tyler’s Green

Sunday 23 April 2017, 9:30 KO, Kings College Field

This was an excellent all-round team performance from Rangers that deserved a more convincing scoreline.

Penn started strongly and looked dangerous going forward. But within a few minutes Rangers asserted themselves and began to dominate the game. The breakthrough came in the 17th minute when Flynn hit a beautiful cross-field pass to Jerome who took his chance well. Ryshub made the save-of-the-season when he somehow managed to get down low and get a hand on the ball from a shot that seemed certain to go in. The second goal came in the 32nd minute when Kamaal was in the right place at the right time during a goal mouth scramble.

Rangers were strong in the second half too. They had two goals disallowed for offside within the space of a minute but weren’t downhearted and kept fighting. The third goal came from Kamaal when he managed to squeeze his shot past the keeper from a narrow angle. Penn got a goal back via a penalty.

It was then a long twenty minutes before the final whistle with Rangers not managing to get another goal to make it feel comfortable. But they created chances and came out of the game as worthy victors.
