Kings College Fields, Sunday 4 December 2016, 12:00 KO. Mike Keen Memorial Cup
After a break of 3 weeks without a game, Rangers showed an eagerness to get back to football and put in their best performance of the season.
Penn and Tyler’s Green hadn’t won a game since they beat Rangers at the end of October but they started well. But Rangers began to assert their authority and were working hard, following instructions and playing some nice football. They deservedly went ahead in the 15th minute through Jerome. Flynn made it 2-0 two minutes later.
Penn got a goal back at the start of the second half and were threatening to get back into the game but Jerome settled a few nerves 10 minutes into the second half when he rose well to head in a ball in from the right by Billy. Ruislip created more chances but made the game safe through a battling goal by Harry.
The win takes Rangers into the quarter-finals which will be played towards the end of January.
