Ruislip having already secured the top spot in the division were today out to keep up the good performances and try and break through the 40 point barrier. As soon as the game kicked off is was clear that this was going to be an even game for the first half. Both teams were strong in defence and little clear chances were made to score.
30 minutes in and Ruislip had a free kick just outside the box and up stepped the deadly Alex Wright, who yet again curled the ball round the wall and into the far corner. 1 v 0. Into the second half and Ruislip defence were again regally tested as Princes Park push more players forward. However all the boys that played defence today were worthy of having their names mentioned, Ryan Fox, Kinsey Hogg, Charlie Poole, Alex Wright, Daniel Ayres, Steve Cousins and Martin Thornton all outstanding.
With 20 minutes remaining Ruislip needed another goal to ease the tension and Josh Harnett latched on to a defence splitting pass from Kinsey to calmly slot the ball into the bottom corner. Soon after the game was ours as again a high through ball from Kinsey caught the keeper out hit the crossbar and in – form striker Ben Poole had a tap in to make it 3 v 0. A tense tight game throughout with both sides giving it all was credit to all the players that took part. Well done Boys.
