Sunday 6th September, League Division 2
Having joined the South Bucks league in the summer the team kicked of the division 2 campaign with a home game against a much organised Marlow outfit. The team have struggled with getting pre season friendlies due to availabilities in the summer and it showed. Within the first 20minutes found themselves 0 v 4 down with every chance for Marlow dispatched well. Striker Ben Poole just before the break was fouled in the area and the penalty was duly scored by Josh Harnett. Half time 1 v 4. The second half was a complete reverse, Ben Poole’s brace of goals inside the first ten minutes made Ruislip the stronger team, this was cruelly stopped with a counter attacking goal for Marlow to restore breathing space. Jordan Cameron then brought Ruislip to within 1 goal with a cross come shot which baffled Marlow’s keeper. With the boys really pressing for an equaliser Marlow again hit on the counter to claim the 3 points. A poor showing from Ruislip in the 1st half left just too much to do in an excellent 2nd half. Report by Tony Poole – Coach.
