MK City Emeralds 4 U16 Girls 5

Scorers Danielle Buckland 3, Savana Fearon & Caitlin Stronge GOM Savana Fearon Players Player Georgina Klovig-Skelton We could only muster a squad of 11 players for this game which was always going to make it tricky. We were a bit nervous and this showed as MK kept attacking us. However, after some fine passing, we took first blood with a good shot from Danielle Buckland. MK came back at us but we were able to keep them out. However they equalised after a momentary lapse. Undeterred we carried on and again it wasn’t too long before the deadlock was broken with some fine football and a strike again from Dani. In the second half we were a bit more dominant with Dani getting her third goal of the game. Savana Fearon made it four goals from Rangers after a superb run up the field and beating the keeper. Our final goal came after some great football. Caitlin Stronge took a shot from the left of the area at quite an angle and lobbed the keeper. Our four goal buffer was quickly eroded though in a ten minute flurry from Emeralds after they put some fresh legs on and Rangers were getting tired with three quick goals. However the girls held out to a 5-4 win. The team played extremely well given that there were no subs. There was some great passing football and the GOM and Players Player deserved their titles.
