Pitstone & Ivinghoe 0 v 16 Ruislip Rangers (U13 Wycombe)

Missing five players through a variety of reasons, Ruislip had a bare eleven for this cup tie but still had far too much class and strength for their third tier opponents as they strolled comfortably into the quarter finals. Sometimes when games are this one sided, it can be easy for the superior side to lose their shape and discipline but there was none of that as Ruislip finished the game in the same fashion they started, passing, moving and making the small pitch as wide as possible. It was a real team affair as seven different players got their name on the scoresheet with the two strikers Eli Soque and Jack Neill bagging four apiece. The game was all but dead as a contest after the first quarter as goals from Ryan Morgan, Caleb Watts, Mark Webb and Soque saw the away team race into a four goal lead. When Watts added a fifth just before the break it was really a question of whether Ruislip could better the sixteen goal win over Larkspur earlier in the season.

As it turned out they could only match it but by scoring eleven goals in the second period it illustrated their high levels of commitment and desire. It took Soque just three second half minutes to make it six before Neill got into the act with an eleven minute hat trick. Harrison Deas volleyed home to make it double figures before Omari Reynolds finished off a flowing move that was satisfyingly worked on in training the previous day. Morgan bagged his second to make it a dozen on fifty seven minutes before Soque got his third and fourth with tap ins as the game entered the last ten minutes. Neill matched him with another tap in after Morgan was denied his hat trick by the width of a post, before Deas rounded off proceedings in the grand manner with an exquisite flick header in the last minute. There will be sterner tests to come but if Ruislip continue to display the same attitude and commitment to passing the ball as they showed here then it could prove to be a very exciting and rewarding second half of the season.

MoM Eli Soque and Jack Neill – their job today was to score goals and with eight goals between them it was a job done very well
