It took us a bit of time settling down with Risboro giving us a bit of a battle in midfield. We finally started playing some nice football with a lovely interchange between Bex and Angie, a great cross in and Millie was on the end of it to smash in. The second goal was a Risboro OG but well deserved as we piled on the pressure forcing the defender to slice into her own net. Quickly after that a mazy run from Angie ended when she was brought down in the box a definite penalty. Unfortunately we were unable to convert so still 2-0.
However Millie was soon in the right place at the right time to make it three-nil with another rocket. The fourth goal was a nice move. This time Angie setting Becky on her way down the wing and crossing the ball in to the box for Aurela to find the back of the net for a great poacher’s type goal. The fifth goal was down to some quick thinking and a quick throw in by Issy to Bex. A lovely half volley from well out side the area from Bex left the keeper with no chance.
The second half levelled out a bit with Ruislip putting the Risborough goal under a lot of pressure with their keeper making a lot of saves and denying us more goals. Reanna in particular went really close to extending our lead. The pressure finally told when Abi, who had worked tirelessly up and down her wing, fired in a shot to make it 6-0.
After that the game deteriorated into unorganised playground football for various reasons not least the weather as it was tipping it down !
So 6-1 the end result and we must give a mention for our defence of Farren, Issy and Lili. They kept their shape up until the end when Risboro scored a consolation from probably their only shot on goal. the initial shot was saved but the rebound was whacked in.
