With the top two in the league facing each other on a wet muddy pitch it was sure to be a close nail biting game. Ruislip went in to the fixture with only 12 available players so stamina would have to come into play at some point in the game. Ruislip took an early lead through a fine Duncan Austin finish on the volley. Heathrow replied and had the better chances in the half scoring 2 and Ruislip’s goalkeeper Ryan Fox making a string of brilliant saves kept the score 1 v 2 at the break.
A tough team talk was needed and a little tinkering with the team at half time and the boys were out fired up to show just who’s top of the table. An own goal levelled up the score line early on and then Ruislip stepped up through the gears with a 2nd from Duncan a brace from Kinsey Hogg and a volley from Nathan Appleby secured the 3 points. An excellent display of football from the boys who again showed a superb team spirit throughout.
